American K-9 Detection Services, LLC (“AMK9”) is pleased to receive another contract extension from the United States (U.S.)Government for continued Patrol Explosive Detection Dog (PEDD) and Patrol Narcotics Detection Dog (PNDD) Teams in the Combined Joint Operations Area-Afghanistan (CJOA-A).  The U.S. Government has elected to implement the second of four option years following AMK9’s successful operations maintaining the largest canine detection contract the U.S. Government has ever awarded.

AMK9’s Contract Working Dog (CWD) Teams have become a standard security asset for U.S. and NATO troops across the CJOA-A.  Relying on the expertise of the highly trained AMK9 PEDD and PNDD teams, U.S. Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A) and Multi National Forces Afghanistan (MNF-A) utilize AMK9 CWD Teams to support current security efforts of military force protection and entry control point security.  The results of AMK9 CWD Team searches during the two (2) completed years of this contract have yielded noteworthy discoveries that include hundreds of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), hundreds more pounds of illegal narcotics, and countless weapons caches.  AMK9’s consistent achievements have established the credibility of CWD Teams as more than a protective reinforcement, but rather a critical lifesaving resource.  AMK9 considers it an honor to support our troops with an unrivaled level of K-9 detection security, and will continue to do so throughout the remainder of the contract option year.
