AMK9 Contract Working Dog (CWD) Teams are leading the way in the protection of federal facilities, personnel, and assets.  Many United States and foreign government agencies are now utilizing the advanced capabilities of AMK9 Explosives, Narcotics, and Human Remains Detection Dog Teams as a pro-active and comprehensive security strategy.  AMK9 CWD Teams are skillfully trained in detection work and fully experienced in mitigation of risk in high threat environments.

Our K-9 Teams are commonly used in searches of vehicles, cargo, deliveries, buildings, open area, and other suspicious settings, to prevent and detect unlawful activity. Providing a strong, visible K-9 presence has proven highly effective in deterring criminal and terrorist threats, but when issues do arise, the use of AMK9 CWD teams is proven to be an accurate and effective detection resource.

EXPLOSIVES DETECTION

Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) Teams are also sometimes referred to as bomb dogs or bomb sniffing dogs. AMK9 EDD Teams are expertly trained to locate explosives and even explosive residue. These EDD teams are particularly effective as they are able to locate mere grams of explosives easily missed by humans or man-made devices, and large quantities of explosives intended for harm.

NARCOTICS DETECTION


Narcotic Detection Dog (NDD) Teams are also known as drug dogs or drug sniffing dogs. NDD Teams are trained exclusively to locate illicit narcotics. Because they are trained to find even trace amounts of expertly hidden narcotics or narcotic residue, EDD Teams are typically used by law enforcement officials to search vehicles, cargo, luggage, clothing, and/or any location suspected of containing illegal substances.

HUMAN REMAINS DETECTION


Human Remains Detection (HRD) Dog Teams, are also referred to as cadaver dogs. These Dog Teams are specially trained to assist in the location of missing persons or crucial forensic evidence. HRD dogs have the unique ability to detect not only human remains but items contaminated by any forensic evidence, above or below ground or water.

SPECIAL PURPOSE


A Special Purpose Dog Team is a canine and handler that have been trained to detect specific items beyond explosives or narcotics. Other categories commonly trained for are:
• cell phones (in prisons);
• currency;
• weapons;
• illicit contraband;
• cargo;
• bed bugs; and
• mold.

GREEN CANINES


A “green” canine is a dog that meets all of the criteria to be selected and trained as a working dog, but has only learned the most rudimentary commands. At this point the dog is ready to be imprint trained on the chosen category of odor and developed into a working dog. Through our select vendors AMK9 does provide green canines to interested clients.
